Nia (pronounced ‘nee yah’) means “purpose” in Swahili and, as a faith-based community development corporation, we see our purpose as helping people to help themselves and others improve their quality of life. We believe that empowering people transforms communities.
We recognize the need to meet and serve people where they are and then sensitively and responsibly act to bring about the needed changes so that communities are increasingly transformed from one state of well-being to the next.We focus our attention and resources in the following seven areas, believing they have the greatest impact towards overall community health.
